It started with a rash. Primal Earth founder Shane Young wasn't a hard line eco-warrior looking to change the world: he just wanted to be able to have a shave without getting a rash on his neck. He'd tried every sensitive skin formulation on the market - but the problem was that they all had one thing in common - they were full of artificial chemicals.

So, being a bit of do-er Shane decided to try to make a shave gel of his own that didn't have all that unnatural stuff. So he went and learnt about plant-based natural alternatives that could work better than the strings of letters and numbers you find on the back of the skincare you normally find in the supermarket.

This journey led him to building a company based on transparency, traceability, organics and a lot of these ideas that are promising a better future. But he didn't mean for it to be like that. Mainly he just wanted a shave gel that worked without irritating his skin.

We aren't out to solve every problem in the world but when the chemicals you are putting on your face are part of the problem you'd be mad not to be part of the solution.
